The weekend
Ge Yao was nice. It was a great difference from the last Ge Yao I watched. I think mainly is because of the hosts and all the big shot guest performers. So the atmosphere was really good. So, thanks to all those who accompanied me there (Xiz, Ronnie, Weixin and Cheng Rong)...yah, and thanks to my sis who bugged me the whole week to buy tix....
Watched 英雄 on Ch U juz now. 2nd time watching it but still felt that it was a really beautiful movie... Every scene was breathtaking...Smooth flowing swordplay of consummate grace...although I felt that some effects were overdone and unnatural (like the one with the raindrops and the one with all the flying leaves). The soundtrack, although abit repetitive, was 沧桑 enuff. But most impressive of all was the use of colours. Red for passion and rage; blue for courage and serenity; green for youth and vibrancy; white for truth and reason; black for power, strength and death. Very very impressive.
A more recent Jet Li movie made great use of colour to dictate the mood of the movie too, albeit with more subtlety. Black vs white. If you haven guessed it by now, its 霍元甲. I only noticed it after watching Jay Chou's MTV multiple times. The dark mood of the first part of the movie was made to contrast with the 2nd part's brighter mood using only one simple thing. The characters' clothes.

Most pple condemned the movie cos of its plot (or lack of). Thought I was the only one who liked 英雄 for it's cinematography and beautiful effects! :)
