The TRUTH about medical textbooks

Yes, its time to reveal the shocking truth about medical txtbks: They are room decorations. You are a medical student, so you better start looking like one. So you better start filling your room with things that make you look like a medical student. Other items you may wish to decorate your room with include: a set of skeleton, charts of anatomy, plastic models of various body parts eg. heart, inner ear etc, medical instruments eg stethoscope, fundoscope etc. All these come at quite high costs though, so txtbooks remain the more popular choice.

Choosing your room accessories. Every year, there are a range of recommended medical txts for every subject. So many medical students are faced with dilemas when they walk into the bookshops. So how do you choose? How do you make the correct choice? My method: choose the more colourful one. That'll take you about 10secs. Den you can walk out of the shop smugly, leaving your collegues behind to frown over multiple texts.

Of course, I cannot leave out the other important function of medical txts. The other reason why we spend hundreds of dollars every year on them.

They make excellent paperweights.
