Boxed

Went singing in a box yesterday wif the dudes. Actually we did little singing, but more screaming, shouting and squealing... (the most memorable song was probably "鬼", by David Tao) But it was damn fun lar, cos we were all guys (as usual) and thus didn't have qualms zao sgia-ing (off-keying) and making wierd sounds into the mics...did I mention the jostling, shoving and fighting (frenly type)? Too high liao.

In case you are wondering, no alcoholic drinks were served.

Alpha-keratin

As a result of yet another postponed PBL session (my PBL sessions have been postponed a approximate n times), I'm sitting in the library, waiting for lunch time.

As a result of this purposeless stoning, I'm reminded of the alpha-keratin stores on my head that is irritating me. As a result of that, I'm reminded of the need to go to the alpha-keratin mower to reduce my keratin stores. However, due to an unfortunate bout of improbability, the previous 2 times I manage to muster enuff willpower to drag myself down to the keratin-mower's shop, it was closed...As a result, I'm very dejected.

As a result, I'm blogging here.

Alert! Alert!
The build up of tutorials has reached a critical mass. Catastrophic reaction imminent. All personnel evacuate immediately. This is not a drill. I repeat, this is not a drill.

Bloody week

On thursday, the top of my middle finger was pierced by my dear fren wenyang (actually all he did was to press my finger gently onto a gadget called the "autoclick"), for the benefit of medical education. However, those in my group were disappointed with the unreactiveness of my blood, as O type blood doesn't react with the Anti-A and Anti-B sera...

Today, my median cubital vein was pierced and my blood was emptied into a transparent bag lined with citrate. Its my first time and I was a bit scared. The senior nurse saw my big and beautiful veins and told a newbie nurse to practise on me. I very kanchiong, but nvr say anything, cos one day I will oso be newbie...luckily it was not too bad...

But when the 450ml bag was filled and the needle removed, I suddenly felt cold, then felt hot. Then when I tried to stand, my propioceptors went nuts and my vision was obscured. I had to lie down for 20min b4 the nurses let me go...haha..so paiseh cos my frens juz walked off to drink their milo after donating...

Physiological analysis
The cold sensation was probably caused by the vasoconstriction of my vessels, in order to compensate for the drop in blood pressure. Probably went too far and try to balance the system again by vasodilation, lowering blood pressure again (hot sensation). Then when I tried to stand up suddenly, the pressure changed and there was momentarily an insufficient blood supply to my head.

So actually is I weak lar, nothing wrong wif the blood donation procedure... mebbe becos i eat lunch too early, or becos i this week do alot of shag-inducing things...haha..anyway i wun be put off by this experience lar...afterall, must get used to needles and blood...and somemore my blood O+, can save so many lives =PpP so 大家 must go donate blood...got free milo and biscuits, and if u're lucky, got pretty nurse to look at...=PpP

ohyah...the nurse said after donating blood cannot do strenous activity for 48hrs, so no mugging for the nxt 48hrs...

Shag-ness

Sometimes it is possible to forestall the onset of emotional stress or fatigue. Like using caffeine to stay awake. Or the adrenaline rush that helps you keep awake during competitions/exams/performances, even though you have exhausted yourself out during the preparations. Or simply brushing aside the emotional stress/fatigue using sheer willpower.

But the stress/fatigue doesn't really disappear you know. They are merely delayed. And the more you delay them, the more stress/fatigue you put aside, the more they accumulate. And when they all come back to you, the results can be devastating...
