I would like to cancel my subscription of witty and humorous remarks

Well, you know, I might have actually eaten that slice of cake if not for all the chatter.

You can take that either literally or figuratively. It doesn't matter. At least not anymore.

The point is, I'm sick and tired of all the witty/humorous/funny/sarcastic comments that I have been receiving. Think I cannot take jokes? Well, let's do some maths with some really crude numbers. Assume I meet 10% of the class everyday - that'll be around 20 people. Let us make another assumption that 10% of the people I meet drop me a witty remark. Just ONE witty remark per person. So I receive 2 witty remarks a day. (That is a gross underestimate I assure you) So over a week I'll have collected 10 witty remarks (2x5). Over a month I'll have collected 40 witty remarks! Over one semester, I would have amassed a mighty collection of 240 remarks!!! Woohoo! Can't imagine all the fun I've been having.

Hoho. What can I do really? Smile, grin, frown, snigger, throw in another witty remark of my own? Been there, done that. Done that all.

I can't really control what people say can I? After all, "nobody can claim monopoly on the truth". I guess this applies to half-truths, quarter-truths, untruths and other forms of truth as well. So go ahead, fabricate, synthesize, disseminate as many stories as you all want. Laugh, ridicule, gossip all you want. All I ask is, please do it behind my back, considerately/compassionately/mercifully out of my earshot. Point is: pls leave me alone. I implore you to spare me.

So, my dear friends, who have been utmostly efficient in disseminating all the delicious half-baked tidbits of gossip, do help me spread the word? Thank you very much. Really appreciate your efforts. =)
