Random thoughts

"To deny our own impulses is to deny the very thing that makes us human."

Emotion is the thing that separates us from machines, from the so-called mindless processing units that are of our own creation. But then again, isn't the control over our impulses, the ability to deny our more basic instincts the thing that distinguishes us from mere beasts?

Imagine a world without emotions. Imagine a world where we are all ruthlessly efficient, with no emotions to cloud our judgement, to distract us, to burden us. All is accomplished by cold logic and reason. There would be no anger, no rage, no grudges, no sadness, no lust, no temptations. Wouldn't a world like that be better? No petty wars, no pain; everyone working at maximum efficiency, unburdened and unhampered by this seemingly useless faculty of our minds?

Just my random thoughts...Feel free to comment. (try using the comments link...dun flood the tagboard..=P)

in that case, it'll really depends on your definition of better and emotions. Passion drives a lot of good too. Without it, perhaps a lot of betterments and advances wouldnt have been made even if we were maximally efficient.

budden w/o emotions, u wun need passion to drive u at all, cos u will always b at the max, as it is the only logical thing to do... no distractions, no inertia, no sianess

A world without emotions and surviving on pure efficiency would mean that some of us would not even deserve to exist today. Imagine a world where some people you know are "deleted" because they are simply "not good enough". scary isn't it. Maybe the next one deleted is you...haha..kidding
